4 Day Summer Photogravure Workshop

Plan ahead for this fantastic popular summer photogravure workshop with Silvi Glattauer. Over the 4 days you will have the time to learn, experiment and develop a project in some depth. Everything is there, the materials and technical know-how, in a friendly small group, to maximize your learning and creative experience. Book early, as the group is limited to 8 participants. Includes digital techniques for making high quality films.

Workshops are suitable for beginners through to practiced printmakers.

Course Content

Different means of producing a positive (transparency) for contact printing. Digital techniques for making inkjet films.
Combining photographic material with hand drawn materials.
Exposure guidelines for best results. Single and double exposure methods will be covered.
Open etching - how to control
Intaglio printing with and without colour. Participants will produce a small edition of prints. The printing process is taught by first proofing the plate and then moving on to the finished editioned prints. A secondary edition of coloured prints from the same image is the final stage of the workshop.
